Not sure if I'm in the right place, this was the closest forum I could find for my issue. I'm NOT running XP, I'm running Vista Home Premium. While using Internet Explorer (I prefer that over other browsers, spare me the hate mail lol), and I use a search engine, EVERY time I click on one of...
haha... I oddly enough haven't tried even poking around in the BIOS, but to answer your question, no, no external usb plugged in.
I suppose I'll try that firmware you suggested... And yes, it is old.. lol... there's a website: www.4allmemory.com where you can find RAM for anything. IT's a...
Hello all. Hope i have the right forum. Anyway, I have an old Compaq laptop that I am fixing up for my Fiance for her to use for school. It's a Compaq Evo N1015v, with Windows XP Home, 256MB of RAM (Soon to be upgraded to 768),and an AMD Athlon processor (1.52GHz).
So, almost the second you...
vacunita - I read theacerguy threads. They have solutions there for acer aspire's only. Looks like Acer hasn't released a patch for the travelmate's. Aspires use a bison camera, and the TravelMate's use Logitechs. I tried taking all my pictures out of My Pictures to no avail. It's a real...
PRPhx - ok, nothing listed in the Registry, and Lemon13 - nothing listed under hidden devices... Both excellent suggestions, but maybe the canon stuff isn't the problem. EIther way, the problem remains. There is some app using my camera in the background, and causing it not to work. I've...
Tried all you said. Nothing listed in add/remove programs, and webcam is not listed in comp management. Deleted ALL usb ports, restarted, and let them all reinstall. No luck. We even tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers/software for the orbicam itself. Lost at this point...
First off, apologies if this is the wrong forum, I didn't see a specific forum for laptop hardware. Anyway, I have an Acer TravelMate 8204WLMi laptop. It comes with an Acer Orbicam. My orbicam is not working, and when I try to open it, I get the following message:
"Camera is in use by...
jerichardson - thanks for the advice.
Just out of curiosity (not doubting you) how would DNS cause a hang like that?
For the record, it did cease after the drivers were installed. I haven't gotten around to the "it's now safe..." message yet tho. Will definitely try your suggestion. Thanks.
After I installed all of the MoBo drivers, it seems to work ok... It still gives me the screen that says "it is now safe to turn off your computer"... I know that's changeable... No biggie... If the problem persists, I'll repost, but for now, all seems ok... ty for the reply.
This PC is brand new, out of the box. It's configured with RAID 1, and I installed XP myself. Install/RAID config went off without a hitch, and now I'm installing my MoBo drivers. Everytime I attempt to restart, the machine hangs at the "Windows is shutting down" screen, and also at the...
Just wanted to update this post. I ended up, through reading all of your helpful replies, and through talking with a salesperson at Avaya, that VoIP is definitely NOT the solution for my office. We will go with a normal telephone system, and just add on the features we need as we go. Thanks...
kwing112000 and Vonexer...
Thank you very much... I'm going to try and get in contact with Avaya and see what it's gonna take to get this off the ground... Thanks again...
Assuming cost isn't a factor, equipment would I need to implement the following scenario?
An internal VoIP solution, that still uses POTS externally. Each office person (approx 10) having his or her own extension/voice mailbox. This just kind of got thrown at me, and I have 0 hours of...
