It's definitely not AES. CM got restarted and everything stopped. After I changed the date on CM to 2018, CTI links came back to "talking" status straight away.
After 3 weeks troubleshooting, found the issue. Tried to re-import the licence and got the error that I need to request the new one as the certificate in it expired. Changed the date 1 year back and started working fine.
Why is this?
Tried also everything you said in the post but didn't help.

we have an Avaya CM3 and AES version 3 I believe. This all worked fine until our CM (S8500) got rebooted due to power failure. Since reboot, connection is down all the time.
We've trier to recreate switch connection, CLAN etc but no success.
On CM when running status aesvcs interface...
