Last post on this. Here is my problem - unfortunately none of the fixes work. Like I said though, I have removed 2003 and installed 2000 - although I just discovered problems with it as well. So I did what I should have done in the first place - moved everything to my Linux box where all is...
As I said, do a Google search then you will understand the problem and the error.
Here is one of a hundred articles. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823552
My problem is that none of the fixes work.
I have no problem on Windows 2000. This error is due to all the new security features in...
That is the full error. Do a Google search on it and you will see a hundred articles on it, but since you don't even know the error I highly doubt you know a fix. In any event, I've installed win2k. I just don't have time to be pissing around with MS crap.
Thanks
I just installed Win3k and trying to set up IIS. Whenever I go to a page I get "Service Unavailable" message. I have searched high and low and tried everything I could find, but still a no go.
Does anyone know how to fix this.
I have run out of patience trying to search out fixes for all...
Is there some kind of script I can use to monitor the Information Store - and if it stops restart it. Other than reinstalling Exchange which I've now done about 4 times because of this idiotic problem, this is the only thing I can think of. I'm tired of having to reinstall every 3 months...
Thanks for the replies.
This is the actual error I get in my Event Viewer. One about every 3 minutes.
The MAPI call 'OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error:
The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available. Either there are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server...
About every 3 months, just like clockwork, Exchange screws up. I really believe malicious code is purposely written in to all Microsoft products just to piss people off. Now each time this happens I have to reinstall Exchange as none of the Microsoft fixes work (surprise, surprise).
Anyway...
My mail is not set for just the internal IP range. It is set to allow anyone that authenticates. That means you must know the user name and password of one of the email accounts on my server. So the original question still remains. Why is Exchange failing the tests outlined in my first post and...
I can find a million answers to general relaying questions, but they do not answer my question, that's why I posted it....
Again, I have followed all the recomendations I can find, including those from MS, but my server still fails on the above tests. This is consistent with many of the...
I have followed all the recomendations to secure my Exchange 2000 server against relay, but I have run several of the many tests and it still fails on a few of them (below). How do I plug up these holes.
Thanks

With Windows it just seems to be one thing after another. I just reformatted and installed Win2k Adv. Srv and installed the latest service packs and updates. The problem is I can't see my folders in the left pane in Windows Explorer, it is just a big grey box with a x to close it at the top. I...
I have two domain contollers both running IIS, and both of them are using the proper IUSR and IWAM. Yep, I've been through all these steps and have searched up and down the domain to see where these are being referenced, but I have no clue where else to look. Maybe somewhere in Bill's warped...
The thing is, IIS is using the proper IWAM_User and IUSR_User - these other two just show up in AD Users and Computers. I delete them with no adverse affects. My web servers work fine. I just want to stop them from showing back up. Where would I look to find out where they are being referenced...
