    Registry entry for Paradox Net Folder

    OK - Have figured it all out. C++Builder 6 is 10 year old but with trial and error have set up the InstallShield to do a full installation of the database and folders. Though the folder options in the InstallShield are a bit out of date for what is used today they are still usable enough to...

    thread101-1447703 I am now using C++Builder 6 Pro and have finally figured out the InstallShield usage. It has a Registry entry and I have tested using it and it works great. I set the DATABASEDIR in the General Information section to [CommonAppDataFolder]\MyProg. Database files are then...

    C++Builder 4 pro install on 64 bit

    2ffat - Thanks for those links. I have used InnoSetup with other languages. However, using packages for installing in C++Builder made it difficult to understand what to actuallly do with InnoSetup with the Borland Dlls etc. and registering which ones. InstallShield did all that for me. I would...

    C++Builder 4 pro install on 64 bit

    Thank you alanb0001. I had given up on the install as it appeared the installer was a 16 bit installer that came with C++Builder 4 Pro and Windows 7 did not want it. Will give this a try. Thanks again. Guess that installing our own apps with Installshield Express would need to go to the same...

    C++Builder 4 or 6 Pro Code in New C++Builder

    Third party libraries. Used the Preview Print that came with C++B - Quick Report, But have dropped it as it was a problem moving into XP. Otherwise just straight C++B. and a few APIs for Empty and Copy Folders. Now just use Text Output which can be loaded from WordPad or Notepad and printed.

    C++Builder 4 pro install on 64 bit

    Thanks. I have used SQL on the Paradox. Could adapt to full SQL. Have been using another language named MiniBASIC and have worked out my own database which I have been using to make progs that I did in C++Builder. It is simply a Binary Record File. It is set up with two fields for record...

    C++Builder 4 or 6 Pro Code in New C++Builder

    I used AnsiString alot. And sometimes just String. Find and Replace would handle that change easily. I used a lot of Char *str1[120] type code throught some of my projects. Thanks for the info.

    Thank you. I have C++Builder 6 pro but have not used it much as it differed in the Paradox Database. So your info is good news for me. May I ask what Database you use if any. I would certainly like to know my alternatives, if any.
