I'm a retired IT exec (CIO/CTO) who started in the industry in 1965. Wrote my first program in AutoCoder for an IBM 1401 mainframe. I progressed through COBOL/PL1/BAL and even used a little interpreted FORTRAN and BASIC in college. My career started as a computer operator and progressed through programmer, programmer-analyst, project leader, programming manager, systems analyst, IT director, and ultimately to CIO/CTO when I retired. I worked through 2000 and retired in 2001. I'm an octogenarian trying to learn web development skills as a hobby. I'm currently learning HTML/CSS/Javascript and the tools needed to use them (VS Code/Git/GitHub/Dev_Tools) while working on a family history web page. My skills are still pretty raw with these new tools
