Hi. I had to remove pdfFactory from my Citrix server recently, and now I'm trying to reinstall it. I'm sure this is related to the whole M: and N: drive assignments that Citrix uses, but when I run the pdfFactory install, I get the following error:
"pdfFactory cannot be installed, because your...
Just to put this baby to bed, I figured it out. It was that OneCare service, which is not to be confused with the service "Windows Live OneCare", which had no effect on the client problem. I narrowed it down to this one service, which I promptly shutdown. I may have opened this machine up to...
I forgot to mention the error code I'm getting: 0x800789FC. I've been Googling it, but all I can find are others like me...lotsa questions, but no answers.
Sorry for the late reply. We're a pretty small network here, so no replicas or master servers. As a whim, I decided to just try the server name in the tree field, but no luck.
That which does not kill me makes me stronger I say!
I've read some posts elsewhere about putting in the IP addy instead of the server name, but I tried that and still get the same error message. Let's see, what else...my firewall is turned off (as I mentioned), Windows Defender is off.
This machine's been a nightmare from day one. It took me...
Marv, I guess I jumped the gun a little when I said that turning off the firewall worked. I can't get back in again, and I double-checked to make sure the firewall was still off and it is. ARRRRGHHH!
Can you explain a little more about that SLPDA and how to save it on my machine?
Here's my situation: Someone here at work took it upon themselves to register a new domain for us. We'll call it "busybody.com". This new domain is now part of my family of 5 other domains that we own, the main one being "maindomain.com" (You're digging my incredible storytelling, I know)
A few...
I'm trying to login to my Novell 6.5 server with my newly installed client for Vista, but I'm getting a constant message that it cannot find the tree or server. Funny thing is, when I clicked the browse "Trees" button in the client advanced settings, it found the tree on its own. It just won't...
Safe Mode!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah! That was it, Linney! You rock.
(Ok, maybe I'm more excited about this than I should be, but screw it!)
Thanks for the tip. I still hate Vista, but this is great!
Ok, I found that location and some files there, but unfortunately nothing that would allow me to continue the installation. This blows. The program I'm trying to install is Computer Associates E-Trust antivirus, which I've done successfully on a few Vista Home machines.
Ok, I may have somewhat of a breakthrough here. I called one of the vendors about their app not installing (it was one of the apps that still uses the C:\Temp folder Dilittante, sorry). He had me go to that folder, and run the .msi file that was put there during the installation. Bingo. It...
Ok, I just successfully installed Acrobat Reader 9 on this laptop.
It still doesn't make sense to me that I'm able to install these programs on other Vista machines, but not this one. Could it be that it's the Business version? Is it possible to downgrade to Vista Home maybe?
