Don't panic, follow the below steps and it will be working again.

You need:
- PC with fixed IP Address 192.168.42.10
- LAN crossover cable if your PC NIC is not autoconfig
- IP Office
- IP Office Manager
- HyperTerminal or prefferably PuTTY
- Serial cable 9 to 9 pin -or- 9 to 24 pin depending of the crashed module

Steps to follow
create a offline config for the IP Office with LAN 1 set to default 192.168.42.1
add the not working module in the offline config
send the offline build config to the IP Office and reboot IP Office
power off the IP Office
connect the not working expansion module to the IP Office
connect the expansion module serial port to your PC
start HyperTerminal - 38400,8,N,1
power up the expansion module and repeatingly press ESC on the PC until you get the Loader message
Power up the IP Office
Start Avaya Manager and open the config

In Manager check:
- Working directory contains the .bin files
- A BootP record with the macaddress of the IP Office, and a IP Adress set as 192.168.42.1
- TFTP server must be enabled
- Open the TFTP monitor window in Manager

In HyperTerminal or PuTTy enter AT-X, de module replies with a erase message and will show a TFTP Poll message
If all is well you can see in the TFTP log in Manager that the module is loading the software
Go for a coffee and be patient, after a while the LED on the expansion module becomes green, it will take a few seconds from here before the unit is operational!
Close the config in Manager and open it again
Test the module, if only the software was a problem it is working again - if not you have a hardware problem.
