Voicemail Pro PC setup

this is by no means meant to be the only true setup for Voicemail Pro but I have good experiences with following this guide.

BIOS settings
ò Power up after AC loss needs to be on, !!!test the power on option!!!

Windows and Software
ò Windows needs to be upgraded to the latest upgrades
ò Install VNC and set password (better than RDP)
ò User ôYOUR_USERö with password ôYOUR_PASSWORDö needs to be created and given administrator rights
ò Logon needs to have fast User switching disabled !!!! so that the logon screen comes up and you can log on as Administrator or ôYOUR_USERö
ò Modem needs to be installed if remote access is needed via dialup (recommended but more and more replaced by remote access software over the Internet)
ò Remote access software needs to be installed if access via the Internet is wanted (logmein or equivalent)
ò Windows Firewall needs to be turned off or the fw.bat (firewall file from Avaya to enter all exceptions for software installed) needs to be run AFTER all Avaya software is installed
ò Windows updates needs to be turned off and set to not alert in task bar (It is really annoying otherwise)
ò Screensaver turned off and the power settings to be set to home/office with hard disk turnoff and system standby set to ôneverö Network card needs to have power savings options disabled in the device manager.
ò Incoming connection needs to be created with ôYOUR_USERö and Administrator being allowed to connect, allow VP connections and allow callers to specify their own IP address, for dialup access !!!test it in the office!!!
ò Install the Administration software before putting in the USB license key (older versions and pretty much obsolete) so that the drivers are correctly installed (not necessary with IP500 and internal license key)
ò Install the VM Pro software
ò In the Vm client, create an administrator user to log on to the VM Pro remotely should you use dialup to speed up the process and also get a backup onto your own PC, User name: ôYOUR_USERö password: ôYOUR_PASSWORDö test in the office before taking to site
