What key does what in Moc/Mat modes?

by  OzzieGeorge  Posted    (Edited  )
I thought it would be good to write a conversion table to make life easier for people who normally programme in MOC mode to use CAT mode and Vise versa. So here we go.

N.B. On more modern phones the LNR/SPD key is labelled Redial

Action [tab] Moc Mode [tab] Cat Mode [tab] Computer Keyboard
Start [tab][tab][tab] F9 [tab] [tab] [tab] LNR/SPD [tab] / (forward slash)
Data Entry [tab] F8 [tab] [tab][tab] RECALL [tab][tab] SPACE
Execute [tab][tab] F2 [tab][tab][tab] CNF [tab][tab][tab] . (Full stop)
Step [tab][tab][tab] F4 [tab][tab][tab] SPKR [tab][tab][tab] ENTER
Step Back [tab] F6 [tab][tab][tab] [tab] FNC [tab][tab] - (Minus)
Separator [tab] F5 [tab][tab][tab] TRF [tab][tab][tab] , (Comma)
Delete one
Character [tab] F7 [tab][tab][tab] HOLD [tab][tab][tab] BACK SPACE
Move Back
One Level [tab] F3 [tab][tab][tab] ANS [tab][tab][tab] : (Full Colon)

Perhaps a definition of some of those are in order.

Start gives you the command prompt.
Data Entry registers your request with the system.
Execute registers your change in the system.
Step moves you on to the next item data can be displayed for. Eg Len010 then 011.
Step back is as above but in the opposite direction. Eg Len011 then 010.
Separator is the character used in such commands as 9000 between the extension number and the key number.
Delete one character does precisely that but not if you have entered or executed.
Move back one level takes you back one data entry level so if you have entered the command 9000 and pressed Data entry, move back will take you back to the command prompt. But if you are in command 9000 and have entered the extn No, Key No and pressed data entry then move back will take you back to the 9000 prompt.

Hope this helps
