Can data be purged from the ePO Server database?

Short answer is no. There is no way to remove data from the database. At least not with the ePO server software.

There are utilities that allow you to purge data, the result of a purge is that the data does not get included in any reports there after. The database size is not reduced as a result of the built in purge.

If your using the MSDE engine then your out of luck when you hit a database size of 2GB because the engine refuses to work.

According to Network Associates the only solutions to this are:

1.)Uninstall and re-install so the database gets deleted and recreated from scratch.
2.)Manually delete and re-create the database.
3.)Upgrade to a full SQL server.
4.)Contact Microsoft for any possible solution.

If you currently have a SQL server, see below.

Having read the FAQ we purge the data from our MSDE database in the following way: If you attach to the MSDE database via an SQL 7 installation you can truncate the logs which will give you back the space required. This is how we maintain our MSDE database
