TITLE: Transferring files between SKW2 and SK95
Many customers who are simultaneously using SK95 and SKW2 ask if they will be able to transfer data files between the two.
Yes, you can move SKW2 and SK95 data back and forth by following the instructions below.
CALENDAR FILES
The Calendar file has the same file format and can be opened in either SK95 or SKW2.
CARDFILES
When saving your Cardfile data in Sidekick 95, you must select File | Save Cardfile As... and specify the file type as a Sidekick 2 Cardfile (*.SDB) in the "Save as type" field. If you don't specify the Sidekick 2 Cardfile format, Sidekick 95 will automatically save by default to Sidekick 95's .SKCard format.
NOTEFILES and WRITEFILES
When saving your Write data in Sidekick 95, you must select File | Save Write File As... and specify the Sidekick 2 Notefile (.*FDR) in the "Save as type" field. If you don't specify the Sidekick 2 Notefile format, Sidekick 95 will automatically save to Sidekick 95's .SKWrite file format.

Your calendar file may consist of up to 8 unique files. The XXXX shown below represents the letters (up to four) of your initials based on information provided when you installed Sidekick. The XXXX may also reflect the name you assigned a Calendar file.

A Write file is composed of three files in the formats listed below. The asterisk represents the name you give the file when you save it from the Write view.
A Notes file is composed of three files in the *.FDR, *.SKN, and *.HDR formats. The asterisk represents the name you give the file when you save it from the Notes view.
