Recover Lost Password SDK95

by  james33  Posted    (Edited  )
The following describes the procedure to follow in the event that you cannot start Sidekick95 because you have forgotten the Password.
Be very careful.
1. If you have a file called Sidekick.ini in your C:\Windows directory then just alter the last 3 Lines to read the following 3 lines in red:
[PASSWORD]
Pswd=
First=SKW20

Alternatively, if the file does not exist or you prefer to reset all your preferences, then here follows the Sidekick.ini file which is in the Windows directory.
Just Copy from
[Sidekick]
down to the end
First=SKW20
Paste it into Notepad and save as Sidekick.txt on the Desktop.
Then using Windows Explorer rename it to:
Sidekick.ini ignore the message that comes up to say it may become unusable and then when it is renamed
Drag it to the Windows Directory C:\Windows and
when it asks you if you wish to replace the one that is there, say yes.

This then leaves you with no need to enter a Password the next time you start Sidekick95/Sidekick2.0
Any problems with preferences e.g. colors etc can be altered after you have started Sidekick95

VIP: Alter the end of Line 5 to read your first and last initials followed by 95
Alter The lines below [UserName] to reflect
your First Name Last Name and Your Company Name and make sure the FirstName and LastName Initials are the same as on Line 5.

VIP do not add any spaces or carriage returns anywhere other than where I suggest

Where the red Text reads:
remove the 'u' from colour so it reads the American way!
i.e. Leave it reading the following:
Square left Bracket Color Setting Square Right Bracket

I had to put the 'u' in as Tecumseh markup Language makes all of the remaining text after that, turn red.

Select and copy from beginning of next line and remember to edit it as I have suggested.
