For use on the various Meridian software versions

Note!
On Norstar generic systems made after version One and before the BCM range was launched, You will need to change the date back to an earlier time by logging in using the customer's access password.
Do this first! before you access the "DEBUG" section.
If both the "ADMIN" & "CONFIG" codes have been altered, Then you must use the other method as shown at the bottom of page 6.
Access "DEBUG" afterwards as shown below near the bottom of this page.

On early Norstar systems, Use "Feature" ** "ADMIN" & the Password = "23646"
On Modular Plus systems, Use "Feature" ** "CONFIG" & the Password = "23646"
For Compact Plus systems, Use "Feature" ** "CONFIG" & the Password = "23646"
Also try on Compact Plus, Use "Feature" ** "SCPLUS" & the Password = "727587"
For Companion 100A & 200A, Use "Feature" ** "ADMIN" & the Password = "23646"
& for Meridian 1 Companion, Use "Feature" ** "9" & the Password = "9999"

On the BCM systems to 3.7, Use "Feature" ** "SYSTEM" & the Password = "23646"
BCM systems 4.0+ Use "Feature" ** "CONFIG" & the User ID: & Password = "738662"

The "DEBUG" password is defined by the date & it changes every day.
Access to "DEBUG" can only be done by using M7310 or M7324 Terminals.
Otherwise you will get "ACCESS DENIED" appear on the LCD display.

Access to the Debug section is as follows..

Note!
The address is usually 6 Digits long & it is in "hex" code.
The "CONFIG" password is listed first on the display, Read every Second digit to obtain the first Four numbers (All other numbers should read Zero).
Press the "NEXT" key to list out the last Two numbers.
The "ADMIN" password is shown next on the display with "SCPLUS" for Compact +.
(Two numbers are shown & keying "NEXT" will list out the last Four digits to complete the "ADMIN" password).

For example hex address 3E040A (Norstar Compact 1A) will show....

Which means password ? ? ? ? (Is the first Four digits of the password)
If an "F" appears instead of a number, Then please ignore it.
This is because the memory hex location code is spare. In other words, The password is less than Six digits long!.
The password can also be found on unknown versions by entering a known hex address for a previous version & scrolling up / down using the
"BACK" & "NEXT" keys until the password appear on the screen.

It is interesting to note that within the hex address code, The first Three letters / digits for the Compact or Modular (Except Rlse 3 version) are the same
i.e. Compact is "3E0" & the Modular is "C00".
Also the last Three letters / digits are the same for that particular software release i.e. Version 2.04 = "04A", 4.02, = "8EE", 5.04 = "A9E" & 7.00 = "C44"

Australian Norstar Information

Debug password address for Australian Telstra versioned CICS.
Not sure of the version it's not listed under 30NsK05 GP4) BUT...I've found the password location at Hex address C01206, suggesting it might be a 5.07 version like the UK 30AUF07 GP4.
You may want to add the 30NsK05 GP4 debug address C010206 to this list.

TWO EXTRA SPECIALIST FEATURE CODES ADDED ON LATER SOFTWARE

Feature ** PROFILE (7763453) Password = "CONFIG" code & it can only used within 15 minutes after a system power-up! It is used to change the global software to a different type i.e. from UK TO Asia software

Profile "A" = United Kingdom "B" = Australia & "C" = Asia?
Extra Info: on Australian setting, F** CONFIG Password = 467825

Also Feature ** OPTION (678466) Password = the "DEBUG" Date code setting!

Problem

The problem arises when a call is made to an analog supervised line which has set or line restriction configured. If the local Telephone Exchange (Central Office) releases the call before the line is answered, the Norstar set continues to ring for around 4secs before disconnecting. If the Norstar set goes off hook during this period, the local Telephone Exchange (Central Office) provides the dial tone to the set allowing the user to dial restricted digits on this line resulting in a Toll Fraud situation.

To prevent this from occuring, the Restriction Inco falg (Muting) should be set to Yes under F**OPTION.

The Norstar system type is worked out as follows, example SP 30MEE02 DR1

The "SP" Stands for the system processor number
"30" = BNR (Bell Northern Research NA & UK Systems)&
"05" Means ENC "99" = NA.
"ME" Identifies the version type (Norstar Modular 8+24)
"E" This stands for the release number & is worked out by the letter
"A" being "0", "B"="1", "C"="2", ôDö=ô3ö, ôEö=ô4ö, ôFö=ô5ö, ôGö=ô6ö,
ôHö=ö7ö, "I"="8" & up to "M"="12" etc. I.E. The letter "E"=Version 4.
"02" = The subversion type i.e. "02" Means release 4.02.
"DR1" Is the language standard set "GP2" = Global Product 2
"NAT" = National?.
