The following is intructions on how to install patches/upgrades to your Call Pilot 100/150 (CP).

Items needed: (Note you can do without a laptop but make sure vmail is up and running after the upgrade before powering down to remove your card), laptop is suggested to make sure all is well and watch the progress.

1. Laptop.
2. Serial 9 Pin cable.
3. One blank Sandisk Flash PCMIA Memory card with at 64 meg space or more. There are reports of failing upgrades due to using memory cards other than Sandisk so make sure you use Sandisk type cards.
4. Upgrade patches(available from www.Avaya.com, support pages).
5. Prior to 3.0 you must have current bootloader firmware version to install current patches.(Please see FAQ on upgrading boot loader).

To create an upgrade card on a formatted PCMIA card
Download upgrade patches and unzip/extract files to your flash memory card via your laptop (or other means), use the stop/eject feature before pulling flash card from laptop.
Hook up your laptop to the Call Pilot serial port and use Hyper Terminal to view CP(or similiar program).
Power down the CP and insert the flash card into the front slot (leave software in place).
Power up the CP and wait to see Voice Mail CORE Ready on the terminal.
Power down the CP and remove your flash card from the CP.
Power CP backup and wait again to see Voice Mail CORE Ready on the terminal.

CP is now ready for normal use.

To upgrade your current PCMIA card if you have the software download
Power down the Callpilot
Insert the PCMCIA card into your laptop
Delete all the files you see
Extract the new file/version you downloaded to the same destination
Remove from your laptop and insert it to your Callpilot (far back slot of the 2) and power up.
Wait for it to fully boot.
Log to F983 and press 9 to verify version.
