Access Problems

Why have I suddenly not been able to write/edit/delete to the registry? I am the system administrator.

I suddenly lost the ability to make any changes or additions to the registry... I am thankful that I was still able to read from it, otherwise this would have been a lot worse.

Everywhere I looked, I couldn't find the answer.. I found answers for people with the same problem but apparently not the same cause.

If you run into the same situation and can't identify the cause.. try this...

. Right click on my computer and goto Properties
. From there, you'll see the Advanced tab at the top of the dialog, click that.
. Click the button that says Performance Options
. Click the "Change..." button in the right-midsection of the dialog.
. You now have a status dialog on system resource sizes..

At the bottom there's a Registry size group... If you're registry size is right at, or near your maximum size, that is likely your problem... in either case, increase the size..

That should solve your problem.
