Configuring System Locale in Windows 2000

(You need to be logged in with Administrator's privileges.)

To check your current System Locale, run MSinfo32. ("C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\msinfo32.exe")

If it is not the country you expect to see, e.g US instead of UK, then follow these instructions to change your system locale in Windows 2000: (You may need your setup CD, but probably not.)

a. From "Start" button, select "Regional Options" by following [Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Regional Options].

b. Under "Language Settings for the System", press "Set default" button. A "Select System Locale" window will pop up.

c. Select the appropriate language from the dropdown box. Click "OK" to close the "Select System Locale" window.

d. Click "OK" to close the "Regional Options" window.

e. You will be prompted to reboot your machine.

f. Re-check your System Locale with MSinfo32.
