I must have sifted through 1000s of suggestions before I ran across the link below. It addresses how to fix the problem when hardware changes cause the INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error. I used the procedure to fix an image that I was using between two different hardware configurations. It should fix errors caused by changes in the HD controller or motherboard, including taking a hard-drive out of one PC and putting it into another. I didn't write it but thought it was worth passing on:
