Windows\system32\config corrupt registry hive files

I have written an faq about this problem that was discussed in two different forums. Information on how to restore your Windows XP operating system registry files can be found at

I personally solved the problem (without changing any original hardware or memory) by going into my bios and finding the power button function or switch depending on your bios maker. At this setting usually two choices are available Suspend (default) and On/Off or Soft Off. Select On/Off (Soft-Off). Read the bios description in your motherboard manual for more details. This will allow you to shut down the system without cutting power early. You should see the screen that says "It is now safe to turn off your computer", then press or hold your case's button until it shuts off. Read the knowledge base and apply the sugessted configuration, this should work.

Good Luck
