Hi,
Did you know that you can insert special characters into your reports? Here are some guidelines:
1) To find all the special characters available to you, simply click on Start, then Programs, then Accessories, then System Tools (in Windows 2000), then Character Map.
2) Find the special character that you wish to insert. When you click on the character, you will see a keystroke combination appear in the lower right corner of the Character map window. For instance, here is a list of codes for various special characters:
alt-0174 « alt-0169 ¬ alt-0149 ò (bullet)
alt-0153 Ö alt-0162 ó alt-0163 ú
alt-0178 ¦ alt-0188 + alt-0189 +
alt-0190 + alt-0128 Ç (Euro) alt-0165 Ñ
3) Insert these into your report by creating a label, and placing it where you want the special character to appear. Make sure that the NUM LOCK key is on, then hold down the ALT key while entering the numbers from the numeric keypad (and NOT the keyboard) as shown above.
Be aware that some of the special characters don't have any valid alt-number combination, but you can still utilize them. Simply select the character desired in the Character Map window, then click Select. Next, click Copy. Switch back to your report or document, right click and select Paste.
