How do I power down/up a G3CSI/PROLOGIX?

DEFINITY G3CSI/PROLOGIX POWER DOWN PROCEDURE

Step 1: Save PBX configuration to PBX flashcard. Bypass this step if instructed by Avaya or your telecom service vendor.
(1.1) Log in to the PBX by typing your login name and pressing <enter>, your password <enter>, and at the terminal prompt simply press <enter>.
(1.2) At the command line, type "save trans" and press <enter>. In the top left corner of the screen, you will see "Please Wait" flashing while the save is being performed. Once complete, the screen should indicate "SPE-A Success". Once complete, type "backup disk both" at the command line and press <enter>. Again you will see "Please Wait" flash in the top left corner and the resulting screen will indicate "SPE-B Success" and "SPE-A Success". Please notify Avaya or your telecom service vendor immediately if any other result is obtained from either the save trans or backup disk commands.

Step 2: Save Announcements, if applicable. Bypass this step if instructed by Avaya or your telecom service vendor.
(2.1) From the command line, type "list config all" and press <enter>. Scroll through the entries to find any boards listed as "Announcement" in the "Board Type" column. Use the <Prev Page> and <Next Page> keys (located above the cursor or "arrow" keys on the keyboard) to scroll through the screens. If all of the announcement boards are listed as "TN750C" or greater in the "Code" column AND "000008" or greater in the "Vintage" column, or if there are no announcement boards listed, then saving announcements is not required and you may proceed to step 3. Otherwise, note the value listed in the "Board Number" column for each announcement board that does not meet these code and vintage requirements and continue to step 2.2. The board number will be a value such as "01A11".
(2.2) Press <Cancel> (which is the forward slash key located on the number pad on the right side of the keyboard) to end the list config command issued in step 2.1 and then remove the flashcard from the PBX by pulling it straight out. The flashcard is typically located in the bottom carrier, or cabinet. You will need a standard slotted screwdriver to turn the retaining screw a quarter turn clockwise in order to open the carrier's front cover. Each announcement board must be saved to its own flashcard. Insert the flashcard to be used for the first board. From the command line, type "save ann from XXXXX", where "XXXX" is the value of the first announcement board found in step 2.1, and press <enter>. The cursor will flash in the top left corner of the screen while the command executes. The screen will indicate "SPE-A Success" when it completes. Please notify Avaya or your telecom service vendor immediately if any other result is obtained. Remove this flashcard and label it with the announcement board number. Repeat this step, using a different flashcard for each announcement board, until all announcement boards noted in step 2.1 have been saved. This process can take up to 40 minutes per board to complete, and no system administration commands can be executed during this period. When finished, replace the original flashcard (used in step 1.2 above) in the PBX.

Step 3: Power down the voice mail system (instructions contained in a separate document) and all adjuncts. Some examples of adjuncts would be CDR Pollable Storage Units (SSR.NET or PS680), BCMSVu Server, CMS Server, etc. This document does not contain the procedures to power down adjuncts.

Step 4: Logoff by typing "logoff" and pressing <enter>at the command line. Then power down the unit(s) as follows.
(4.1) Open the door on the left side of the cabinet to gain access to the power supply.
(4.2) Under the latches of the bottom row of circuit packs, there are labels for each power supply. One will say "POWER" and the others will be numbered. The latch you want is over the "POWER" label.
(4.3) If this is a multiple cabinet environment, shut off carrier A first, then carriers B and C as directed in step 4.4. The carriers will be labeled with the carrier letter.
(4.4) Push up on the metal tab for carrier A, and pull the plastic latch forward slightly. The lights and fan should go off. The carrier is now powered down. Repeat this process for any additional carriers. Be sure to power off all carriers.


DEFINITY G3CSI/PROLOGIX POWER UP PROCEDURE

Step 1: Push the plastic latch on the power supply back in place, reseating the power supply for carrier C. Repeat this process for carriers B and A. Each carrier takes approximately 3 to 15 minutes to fully power up.

Step 2: Restore Announcements, if applicable (i.e. if a save was required during the Power Down Procedures above).
(2.1) Log in to the PBX by typing your login name and pressing <enter>, your password <enter>, and at the terminal prompt simply press <enter>.
(2.2) Insert the first flashcard containing announcements (from step 2.2 in the Power Down Procedures). From the command line, type "restore ann to 01A11" or where "01A11" is the original announcement location noted on the flashcard. Press <enter>. The next screen warns you that this command will overwrite the existing announcements on the specified board. If you are sure that you have typed the correct board number for this flashcard, press <enter> (use the <enter> on the number pad on the right side of the keyboard). If you are unsure of the board number, press <cancel> (which is the forward slash key located on the number pad on the right side of the keyboard) and remove the flashcard to verify the board number noted on it. Repeat this step for each announcement board. As with saving announcements, this step can take up to 40 minutes per board.

Step 3: Power up the voice mail system (instructions included elsewhere) and all adjuncts. Log out of the PBX by typing "logoff" and pressing <enter>.
