How Do I Configure NIGHT Service?

by  globalstrata  Posted    (Edited  )
For delayed auto att, create a hunt group , make it intergrated voice mail, assign the lines to that group, give it a overflow to the real voice mail hunt group. also assign the lines to the console so the operator can pick them up within 4 rings, if not it will go to voicemail and auto att. for night service, go into nite service and add all the lines you want to the nite service lines, add the att (10, 100??) whatever the extension is to the calling group for vm. add the nite button to the att. when you press this in the calls will go directly to auto att.

To assing lines that will be covered by the Night Service:
Enter the Standard SPM mode and select
-System Programming
-Night Srvce
-Group Assign
-Lines
- Enter the Operator Extension that will be covering
- Enter the Phone Lines that will be sent automatically to the night service automated attendant

To assign the Extensions that you want to go in Night Service Mode - This will cause for all calls to that extension to be sent to Voice Mail when the Night Service comes up:
-System Programming
-Night Srvce
-Group Assign
-Extensions
enter extension number of console.
- Assign a button to the phone.

To Assign the Automated Attendant (AA) that will be servicing the Night Service:
- System Programming
- Night Service
- Group Assign
- Calling Grp
- Enter the extension number of the Night Service Operator
- Enter
- 770 or whatever the Voice Mail calling group is
- Enter

You may also want to configure the Starting and Stop times for Night Service or the type of coverage.

Night Service Group Assignment works with the following types of lines:
-Loop Start
-Ground Start
-NI-BRI B Channels
-PRI B Channels that are routed by line appearance
-Automatic Incoming Tie Lines

The following types of lines CANNOT be assigned to Night Service Groups:

-DID (Direct Inward Dialed) trunks either analog or over T1 channels
-Dial In Tie lines
-PRI B Channels that are routed by dial plan

However, there is a way to full Night Service when using a PRI. Under the Voice Mail Administration, select the Main Operator and assigned as and Automated Attendant extension instead of a mailbox. In other words, say that your operator is extension 10, in the Voice Mail System, select Extension and when it ask whether it should be a mailbox or automated attendant, select Automated Attendant instead.
