How do I get my Mac and a Windows computer to share nicely?

OSX:
You can connect to Windows fileshares and printers by going to the Finder's Go menu and selecting Connect to Server

You can share files with Windows by opening your System Preferences and enabling Windows File Sharing.

It seems too easy, doesn't it?

OS9:
You may use PCMacLAN, Dave or FTP

FTP transfers can be achieved for free. Simply install a freeware FTP server on your Windows PC or Mac. The other computers can connect to it by using a freeware FTP client. The drawback to FTP services is that you cannot share printers and Mac's HFS resource forks are not transferred. You may need to re-associate transferred files on the Mac with their creator applications. Freeware FTP servers and clients can be found at http://www.versiontracker.com or http://www.webattack.com

PCMacLAN for Windows (http://www.miramar.com) or Dave for Mac (http://www.thursby.com) are commercial programs that allow one platform to see another. They also offer shared printing.
