Cd(dvd)-rom is not recognized in device manager

by  lordeos  Posted    (Edited  )
After installing some new burnsoftware the following things can happen :

- Your cd(dvd)drives are not recognized anymore in the device manager ... It shows the drive with an exclamation mark beside it.

This is because the new burnsoft altered the lower and upper filters in the registry (corrupt).

Solution :

Delete the followging key in your registry
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}"

If acess is denied it is sufficient to just reset the values to "0".

Reboot the pc and it should be Ok then.

Greetz,
Mike
