Connection issues with Netgear MR314 router

by  manarth  Posted    (Edited  )
The Netgear MR314 has an issue with connecting wireless devices as a LAN (i.e. a WiFi infrastructure, instead of an ad-hoc connection)

The symptoms are:
-connected PCs can connect to the internet
-connected PCs can "ping" the router
-connected PCs cannot ping each other

This is a firmware issue.
You can check your firmware version at the System Status screen (found in the main menu of the browser interface).

If your router's firmware is earlier than 3.29, download the latest firmware from Netgear's website (http://www.netgear.com/support/products/MR314.asp).

See Netgear's user manual for upgrading the firmware: ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/netgear1/MR314_refguide_326.pdf.
