Using Hyperterminal and Arrow-Up results in "^@"

Hyperterminal has got a problem with correctly translating the arrow-keys when you -for example - want to browse through your command history on an Cisco Router or Switch.
1)
When you want to stay with Hyperterminal use the following key combinations:
Ctrl-P instead of Arrow-Up
Ctrl-N instead of Arrow-Down
2)
Or if you want to keep using the arrow-key, get yourself Putty or Teraterm, they interpret arrow-keys as you expect it.
