TSM Client 5.3.6.0 - Windows 2000/Solaris 8/ RHEL 3

Select support for three operating systems was added to TSM 5.4 on April 30, 2008 via special 5.3.6 backup-archive clients and 5.3.6.3 storage agents. These clients and storage agents are supported in TSM 5.4 on only these operating systems, for use with TSM 5.4 and 5.5 servers.

Support ends 90 days after the vendor extended defect

Windows 2000 - July 2010
Solaris 8 - March 2009
Linux x86 RHEL 3 - October 2010

To align with the current Hewlett-Packard support plan, TSM added support for HP-UX 11i V1 to TSM 5.4 in March 2008, via the 5.4.2 backup-archive client and the 5.4.3 server and storage agent.

TSM 5.3 customers who have operating systems that are no longer in mainstream support by their vendor and are not supported in TSM 5.4 or 5.5 will need to obtain a support extension from TSM, or upgrade their operating system level and then their TSM level. These operating systems include:
AIX 5.1, RHEL 3 on Linux System z and PPC, SUSE 8, and z/OS V1R4-6 on both client and server
Windows 2000, Solaris 8, and Linux x86 RHEL 3 on server
NetWare 5.1 and MacOS 10.3.9-10.4.6 on client
