How to do a incremental backup of Information Store - ARCserve9 with Exchange 2K

If you at some point need to do a incremental backup of the Information Store, there is a "trick" on how to do this.

Normally one would click and select "Microsoft Information Store" (select box full green) and right click on any storage group you'd like to back up incremental.

This will not work. When backup starts, it will perform a full backup regardless of the Agent Option Settings. According to CA this is by design (and interesstingly not mentioned in the users manual).

To do a incremental backup, open "Microsoft Information Store" (do NOT select) and then select any storage group. Please note that the selection box left to "Microsoft Information Store" turns half green when doing this. Then, for any storage group you want to back up incrementally, right click it, select backup agent option and then incremental. ARCserve should do incremental backups of your information store now.
