Follow these steps IN THIS ORDER! Failure to adhere to strict order and rebooting after each step may cause undesireable and unrecoverable problems with your backup exec. I got this from Veritas Technical support because I was having trouble using my Backup Exec with Server 2003.

(First)
VERITAS Backup Exec 9.0 for Windows Servers revision 4454 (Single .ZIP download)
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/258718.htm

(Second)
9.0.4454 Hotfix 2 - Device and Media Support (Adds support for the Super Advanced Intelligent Tape (S-AIT) media type
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/261561.htm

(Third)
VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.0 - Device Driver Installer (20031015) - Includes Tape Driver Release (20030902) and Robotic Library Release (40) (Intel Only)
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/263506.htm

***DISCLAIMER***
The Device Driver listed here may not apply to your individual tape device, so a call to Veritas technical support may be required.
