1. Update firmware
2. Try multiple tapes
3. Internal drives - Remove left rear screw
External drives - Try different postion (horizontal vs. vertical)
4. SC/USB/DP/FW drives - Try with data cable disconnected.
DI/ADR/ADR2 drives - Try rebooting, stop windows using F8 to enter boot options, then try to access drive.
5. If tapes are being spit out, how long before kicked out?
If immediately, suggests mechanical issue or physically broken tape.
If takes a while, may be tape header issue, try multiple tapes.
6. Verify drive recognition in BIOS/OS/SW.
7. Verify other devices work in same position.
8. For SCSI drives: Set Data Transfer Rate to 10mb/sec, Disable Sync Negotiation, set SCSI Disconnect to NO.
