How can I make sure all my files get backed up?

When you exclude files/folders from a backup by deselecting them, Arcserve takes a snapshot list of every file on the disk at that moment in time and always tries to backup only those files.

If you want to backup an entire drive each night irrespective of what files existed on the drive when the backup was created, select the drive from the root ie c:\, d:\ etc and don't deselect any files of folders.

If you need to exclude files/folders you don't want to backup, use a filter to exclude them. When creating a job, click on the filter toolbar button and enter the filename ie c:\log\logfile.log or a wildcard *.log and choose to exclude them.

When you set your job up like this Arcserve will backup everything on the disk even when files are added and deleted, except where something is excluded with a filter.
