Transformer has the ability to save models as either .py* or .md* files (where * is a character dependant on the version of transformer used). In series 7, there appears to be a glitch when parsing a pyi file as mdl, whereby a calculated text data source containing a quotation mark will generate slight corruption in the text of the mdl file.
This corruption becomes apparent when opening the mdl file, as a TR1100 error will be shown, giving a line reference for an invalid keyword.
The workaround is to open the mdl file in a basic text editor (such as notepad) and search for @0 ("at" sign and zero). There should be one instance prior to each double quote. Remove and save file.
If this is not the solution, refer to the Cognos support knowledge base article 109622 for other explanations (subscription required).
The problem was discovered when using a sequence of pyi > mdl > pyi to remove categories and hence minimise back-up disk space.
