Alt tags are one of the easiest ways to make your web site accessible for people with disabilities and those who have the graphics turned off in their browsers. When the mouse passes over an image, it shows a description of what the image looks like.
To add an alt tag to an image:
Right click on the image to bring up the short cut menu.
Click on Picture Properties to open the Picture Properties dialog box.
Click the General tab.
In the box marked text, type in a description of the image. Make sure you use prescise terms to help your visitor understand the purpose of the image. For example, "Link to Home Page" is better than a vague "Link."
