There is a simple solution to this, even though getting the answer proved a tad difficult at first (this version of the FAQ actually works, unlike the original FAQ I posted which only told half the story).
Here's what you need to do:
In Access - Go to Tools|Startup..., click Advanced, and make sure 'Use Special Keys' is ticked.
In the VB Editor - Go to Tools|Options, click the General tab, and select 'Break On All Errors' under 'Error Trapping'.
