If you are still using Crystal Version 7 (and there are many good reasons to do so) and you upgrade your computer to Access 2000 and you connect to your Access 2000 database using Crystal's native drivers, you will probably get the following error message when trying to open a table:
"Error detected by database DLL" connecting to Access 2000 natively from Crystal Reports 7
If you try to create a new report in this situation you will not see the field names. The solution is to download Crystal's Access 2000 drivers from their download site. Go to
http://support.crystaldecisions.com/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/access2000drivers.zip.asp
to download a zip file containing new drivers.
The file contains the following *.dll native drivers:
P2bdao.dll
P2irdao.dll
P2ctdao.dll
Rename or delete the files on the complaining machine and place these in the same folder as the old files. You should probably re-boot to get thing right.
