Please note that java is going to be discontinued and is already not supported by browsers in their latest versions such as Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox etc.
You will need to use a version Internet Explorer 11 (not the Edge version)
You might find IE 11 on your PC already in c:\program files\internet explorer\
or
Firefox (not tested by myself yet) download the [link https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/?q=English%20(British)]Firefox 52 ESR[/link] version.
You may also have a Java issue...
Two work arounds to choose from
Option 1:
-Download and install an older version of Java 1.7.0_79 here: Java Archives
Do not uninstall the current version as you can run multiple versions at once.
Keep your versions all 32 BIT or all 64 BIT
If need in troubleshooting you go to the Java Console/Java tab/View button and enable or disable different installed versions.
You should have no issues after doing all or some of the above.
Option 2:
Alter the java security file.
You would have to do this for every update.
Only necessary if you cannot attempt the above fixes at the time.
-In Windows Explorer navigate to Program Files/Java/YourVersion#/lib/security
If using 64 BIT then navigate to Program Files(x86)/Java/YourVersion#/lib/security
-Right click java.security and open with notepad or alike.
-Use the CTL + F command to start FIND
-Search for MD5 and remove these two references: MD5 and MD5withRSA
