How to recover the keycode file from a BCM

by  ccarmock  Posted    (Edited  )
If you have login access to a BCM but don't have the current .LIC keycode file:-

Login via business element manager
On the administration tab, expand Logs and select Log Management

Use Immediate Log Transfer to backup the BCM logs to your
computer.

Once the logs are on your PC, use element manage to expand them (File-> View Network Element Logs)

Once they are expanded you will find a directory structure exists on your PC containing the various BCM log files.

Within that structure will be a directory called systemInformation.tar.

Within that directory will be a text file called licensefile.txt - this file is your .LIC file and can be renamed as such and used to restore keycodes if the BCM is ever reset with a Level 2 reset.
