Dialling into a human answered system:

Have customer do F9*8 and navigate to Modem and Enable it (activates it for 15 minutes)....this is used if the Install tech did not setup the modem parameters.

Setup Dialup Networking
In XP go to Network connections and create New, choose via dial-up then choose manual then choose dial-up modem, enter your customers name, enter a comma for the telephone number, enter user name and password of the BCM (dialup Networking and Element use same user name and password).
Plug an analog set into your modem and use it to call the customer.
Ask the reception to transfer your call to 396 or 333 for later releases (default modem DN) or have them do F9*0.
When you here modem tone click connect/dial.

Once you are connected via dialup networking the small login screen will disappear and you will see the network connection by the clock.
