How to prevent unauthorized toll calls through Outbound Transfer

As many of you know, there has been an increase in the number of hackers out there using outbound transfer on Norstar and BCM voicemails to make "free" long distance and 976 calls. The hacker logs into a mailbox on the system, changes the Outbound Transfer destination to the chargeable number, then calls back in, presses 7, and out he goes on the our customer's dime.

The easiest, and most secure way to prevent this from happening, while still allowing the users access to the feature is to create a Restriction Filter, and apply the filter to the voicemail DN. This filter will be applied when using Outbound Transfer, Off Prem Message Notification, and when replying to external calls from a mailbox.
