Some answers to BCM backup problems on XP SP2

This is a bare beginning and I am hoping to have smarter people make additions and corrections.

When connecting to a BCM for backup purposes with XP SP2 over a WAN.
1: Connect and tell windows to remember password.

2: Start backup, and watch for the XP SP2 popup blocker and if it appears, right click and select always allow pop ups from this site.

3: If errors such as unknown user, password etc. show up and you are positive of your settings you may need to go to the XP Security Policy editor.
Be warned, this can be a dangerous area.

Start, Run Secpol.msc
Go to Local Policies
Go to Security Policies
Go to Network access Sharing and Security model for local accounts
Double click
Choose Classic-Local users authenticate as themselves.

Notes:

Logical Name: Use whatever sounds good.

Location \\IP address\shared folder name.

User Name: Name of the PC referenced in the Location IP address entry\User name built on that PC.
