Change a WAV file to proper Mitel requirements using Windows Sound Recorder

by  paterson  Posted    (Edited  )
You can convert a wav file to the proper options for use on the Mitel 3300 ICP Embedded MOH using the sound recorder build into Windows

Open the wav file in the sound recorder and go to File/Properties

Then Select Convert Now

Then Select CCITT u-Law (on format pulldown)

The Attributes should show ô8.000 kHz, 8bit, mono, 7 kb/secö (You can then save this format by clicking Save-As and name the format as Mitel Format. This Mitel Format can then be applied to other wav files later.)

Then click OK. The properties of the wav file in the sound recorder have changed to the Mitel format needed.

Then click File/Save asà to save this changed file. I suggest using a new name to reflect the changed properties, instead of over writing the original file.
