Setting up SMTP Authorization in Outlook

by  talon121a  Posted    (Edited  )
Configuration of both Outlook versions (Express and Regular) are identical.

First, click on the "Tools" item then, click on "Accounts":

The "Internet Accounts" window will open:

Select the "Mail" tab, select your Mail account and click the "Properties" button. Another window will appear:

Your provider needs to provide your SMTP or POP3 settings.

Select "My server requires authentication" and click the Settings button to configure it further. Another window will appear:

If you want to use the same login/password that you are using for POP3 then select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".

If you wanted to specify another pair, then select "Log on using" and fill the "Account name" and "Password" fields.

Click "OK", to close the window, click "OK" again and again and now you have fully configured Outlook for SMTP Authentication.

I will post another FAQ on how-to setup Authorization on Exchange 2003 as well soon.
