With a simple utility NSLOOKUP, you can determine if your DNS server has the correct records listed,needed for an Exchange server to receive mail from the Internet. You will need NT 4.0 or higher,with at least SP4 and a DNS server attached. An even simpler, wider scope, Internet solution is had at;

With this utility, you can see if your MX, A, CNAME, and other records are accurate and active, anywhere on the internet or right to your ISP's DNS server. Haven't you ever wondered if why your email is not getting to your Exchange server, well, now you can see if it's your ISP's records or you.
