How to configure OWA for users in multiple domains

by  mtraversMSFT  Posted    (Edited  )
The steps below are assuming a viable 2-way trust is in place between the Users Domain and the domain where the OWA server resides:

1. Create a local group on the OWA server for
example "OWA Users"

2. Add the Domain Users groups from each domain into
the OWA Users local group.

3. Grant the OWA Users group logon locally rights
and access this computer from the network

Now make this modification via Internet Services Mgr

1. Go to the properties of your OWA virtual directory under your default web site

2. Go to the properties, Directory Security, Authentication

3. Be sure that Basic Authentication is enabled. For the default domain either:

a. Leave it blank. Users will need to login via
domain\username, using the domain they authenticate with at login

or

b. Instead of a domain name put a backslash
With the backslash all trusted domains should be able to login.
