Getting around Outlook Security Patch

by  DarenNM  Posted    (Edited  )
This question seems to appear in a few forums. I have checked elsewhere for FAQs but couldn't find one. Apologies if I am duplicating information.

There is a document available which explains how to deal with automation problems caused by the Outlook security patch.

Basically, you have to add a registry setting to the user's machine and install a security form in a public folder in Outlook. You can create a group which has the "stop programs sending emails" (or "stop asking me if I can access my address book") setting disabled and then add people to that group.

Check out "OL2000: Administrator Information About the Outlook E-mail Security Update" at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q263297

Hope this is helpful [thumbsup2]
