Hi,

I've installed a Windows 2003 Server and added WSS to it, using the default method.

We dont have SQL server and i imagine its used the MSDE version that comes with WSS.

What is the limit in approx MB of documents we can add to the server. I understand MSDE is 2GB, does this mean once we've added 2gb worth of docs it stops.

Any are there any other limits i should be aware of.

we are trying to setup a very cheap clean system that around 30 users will used for Documents only.

Thanks

Hello,

the WMSDE that ships with SharePoint does not have the 2GB limit, so you should not have any problems there.

There are some limitis when it comes to number of document libraries and number of folders and number of documents in a folder (all of those limits are however not hardcoded).

Download the Windows SharePoint Services Administrators guide at
there you have a section with Capacity planning which will help you get some guidelines on how much you can store.

Cheers,
Thomas
