A friends company I'm working with picked up an old Definity G3 to replace the one they had leased. We've got most of the system back to the way it was but the main issue we're having is that when you make an internal call to another extension and no one answers, the call goes into the callers voicemail box instead of the person's you were calling. This happens for every extension on the switch. If we call from an external number it goes into the correct voicemail. The voicemail system's programming has not changed and it worked fine on the old switch.

Try placing the extension before the name onthe station form.

For example:
extension 7555

7555 Doe, John

What type of voice mail system is it your are dealing with?

BHanson

Thanks mottelecom that may have been part of the problem but it's still the same. They had the station format like this:

555.john doe

I changed it and still no go. Been over 8 years since I worked on a definity so I appreciate the help. I did notice they are using 3 digit extension numbers for their extensions but when you call from an outside line it rings the phones then goes into the correct VM box. The phone rings if you call internally too but comes back to the call originators extension. My friend said he said the only thing he had a problem with was he didn't know how to do the ARS portion of the programming so he didn't add it. I'm going to read up to refresh my memory on it and see if that has something to so with it.

The voicemail system is an Avaya Serenade BHanson.

Thanks guys
