Wrong license loaded

Hi all,

My engineer loaded the ESS license into the main server S8720 un-carefully. Although, the license webpage shown "license install failed" however don't know why the main server CM changed to ESS

Anyone can help for the above problem and how change it back to main cluster?

A CM bug allows installing ESS server on the main. The license install fails but not before changing CM software tables for the main to change it to an ESS server. You cannot save translations (this is a good thing). The failure is when the loadlicense tries to update the server license.

Command: reset system 4

This will resolve your issue. A software corruption engineer can correct the CM softare tables without doing a reset system 4.


If you mistakenly attempt to load an ESS license or an LSP
license on the main server the you properly see a message
that the license did not load, but translations on the main
server become corrupt.

Here is the Avaya workaround:

Duhh - Do not load an ESS or LSP license on a MAIN server

How about doing the interchange server instead of reset system 4 command can solve the problem?

As my customer is not allow the service interruption and data lost and I reported to Avaya support but they replied that the CM 3.x EOS already.

I can fix your CM software tables. An interchange does not reload CM so that is not the same as "reset system 4"
It is the software tables in CM that are corrupted. The fact that the main thinks it is ESS is blocking a save translations.
