Hi there,
We are experiencing a problem with a Compaq Proliant server 800 with UnixWare 2.13. The client claims that after he completed his work within CDE environment, he exited to the command prompt and he encountered the following error messages:
"Command is responding too rapidly, Check for possible errors. /usr/lib/sat/ttymon -g -v -p "Console Login:" -d /dev/syscon -l console"

"INITSH
Exec_initproc: cant exec /sbin/init, error 13"

At this point the system tries to do a memory dump every time it reboots. The dump can either be aborted manually or it eventually aborts with intervention after short period of time. Subsequently, it displays the message: "Press any key to reboot". We can not get out of this loop!
Please provide assistance,
Thank You,
Bob Moattari

This is totally unrelated to your OS. But hopefully it will help. On some fast machines with fast hard drives Open Server can give the same type of error message about init. Solution there was to insert a sleep command at the end of the init script, which had the effect of slowing down the cycling of init (which has to do with console and tty initialization routines).
And in the post it appears you may have crashed the /sbin/init.
I assume that you have an emergency boot capability that will allow you to boot from floppy to get access for repair.
I don't know your OS, so if any of the above doesn't fit, ignore it as the ramblings of an idiot.
