working with bitmap or convert

i have draw x4 and i am trying to figure out how to ungroup the objects so that i can change the colors of them. is it better to changew the file type, and if so how do i do that. also i think it is all one layer. is there a way to change that

To ungroup use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+U after selecting all your graphics. Hit CTRL+U a few times to be sure its all ungroup-ed.

But i don't recommend that instead use the Color Replacer Macro from
