I am trying to set the grammar and style settings and when I click on "Comma required before last item" the selection stays on "don't check".

Likewise with the other two selections (punctuation and spaces required between sentences).

What am I doing wrong?

Yes; there is a drop down list. But I cannot change it.

So if you select "always" the drop down closes and it still says "don't check"? Sorry, I have never heard of that and I don't know what may cause it.

Enjoy,
Tony

A: Yes.

I found the answer.

This setting cannot be changed on documents saved in the *.doc format.

It only works on documents saved in the *.docx format.

Hmmm...

That makes no sense to me - there must be another setting somewhere controlling it. The settings are the same in 2003, and it works the same for me in both versions.

Enjoy,
Tony

Tony...it's Microsoft.

It does not have to make sense!
